WE ARE SOUND MEDIA

Introducing: new ways to launch a podcast with Sound Media’s new workshops

We are delighted to say that Sound Media is making the move into online workshops.

We’re experts in helping people get a podcast launched, especially for their business or brand, with nothing left to chance and a solid backbone and strategy behind it so it really works.

That’s what we’ve been doing, on a bespoke one-to-one basis, for ages now.

And it works, we know it works, and our clients tell us it works. But of course, it requires being ready to go in at that bespoke one-to-one level… and not everyone is. I mean, some aren’t even sure if they’re ready to launch a podcast at all.

So that’s what we’re helping to solve next as we launch two new styles of workshops

1. One-hour FREE workshop about podcasting

Tuesday 21 June 2022 at 1pm BST (UK time) will be the first of our new free one-hour workshops about podcasting. This has a real business edge to it, as that’s our speciality.

‘Six Ways To Grow Your Business with Podcasting’ will take you through a series of benefits your brand can tap into through the power of podcasting.

It’ll be led by Sound Media’s founder James Marriott (that’s me).

We’ll be running a free workshop like this every two or three months and each one will be in collaboration with a third party, to help give an extra dimension to proceedings.

The first one is co-hosting by Chris Allbones, who is director and co-founder of marketing agency drumBEAT based in Lincolnshire. He’ll be giving a wider perspective from an end-to-end marketing point of view. Sometimes I worry that I’m just too biased about podcasting being great, so Chris will help level that out. He currently isn’t a podcaster… My task is to convince him to start one.

There’ll also be time for a Q&A session within the hour too. This isn’t designed to be a ‘sit there and watch’ thing (although you are of course entirely welcome to just tune in and watch), but you can get immediate answers to questions that crop up, or clarification on something that didn’t make sense.

At the end of it, you’ll know everything you need about podcasting, and be ready to decide if you’re going to take that next step.

Spaces are limited so booking is essential. You can sign up for free on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/352660907267

2. Half-day Podcast Launch Workshop

As mentioned above, we generally work with clients on a bespoke one-to-one basis. We help them get their podcast up-and-running. As you can imagine, this works really well on this bespoke one-to-one basis as ultimately no podcasts or podcasters are the same.

But it requires a certain level of commitment and can be quite intensive work.

We know that isn’t for everyone. Some people may well have budgets that just don’t stretch to that kind of bespoke one-to-one work, or maybe want to spread tasks around their team.

Our one-to-one work follows a formula. Together we work through this formula to create a launch plan for clients.

This brings us to the Podcast Launch Workshop. In it, James will talk you through the elements of that formula so you can draw up your own launch plan.

It’s not as hands-on as holding your hand through each step and making those decisions with you, but it’s guiding you through each step and the potential options, so you can get things right yourself.

This means you will know exactly what you have to do, in what order, to get a podcast launched.

You’ll learn about the stuff you need to know, like audio hosting, podcast apps and platforms, cover art, music, and everything else.

And it isn’t just a few hours of someone throwing endless information at you. You’ll get an exclusive e-workbook as part of the course – you can work through it as you go during the session itself, and then revisit the bits which you need to give some thought to. The workbook ultimately becomes your readymade podcast plan.

The first one is on Tuesday 12 July from 9.30am BST. It runs until 1.30pm, but the idea is the last hour or so will be a Q&A session so we can help you with specific questions.

You’ll also get an invitation to book a 30-minute one to one video call with James anytime up to two months after the workshop. So you can crack on with your launch plan knowing that if there’s anything you need a bit of bespoke help with or a second opinion on, you’ve got it covered.

Overall it’s a cracking package to help anyone get a podcast launched.

The first session costs just £147 (plus Eventbrite’s own fees) and can be booked via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/352859731957 – this is a special offer for the first session, future ones will cost £197 (plus VAT and Eventbrite fee).

The half-day launch workshops will run every two or three months. As we specialise in podcasting for business, there will be a slant towards that, but actually the process isn’t much different for passion-project podcasts, so it would work just fine if you’re looking to launch a podcast just for yourself.
